About My Journey
My personal story of connecting with the rv and outdoor hospitality industry
I believe that you can tell alot about where someone is going by looking at where they have been. This is my personal journey in this amazing industry. If you don’t care, it’s okay to stop reading now. If you like to know something about who you are working with, keep going.
After receiving a medical diagnosis that forced me to sell my techology consulting firm in the non-profit and faith based world that I loved, I found comfort and joy in helping campgrounds as we traveled the US in our Class A Motorhome. They reminded me of my non-profits without the life and death component. They were often under-staffed, under serviced, and either lacked technology or were over sold technology much like my NFP’s. Before I knew it, I had made over 100 friends who owned or managed campgrounds and was “advising them” on a regular basis.
From Volunteer to Coach /Consultant
My story continues
My foray into the outdoor hospitality realm began even before we embarked on a full-time road adventure. I was entrusted with the exciting task of organizing a large rally in a quaint town named Elkhart, IN—a place I had yet to discover. My mission was to curate a lineup of vendors for this pioneering event. With a natural desire for hosting and engaging, this opportunity allowed me to plan an amazing party, all on someone else’s dime! The experience was exhilarating, and the following year, the event’s scale doubled, much to my delight.
Collaborating with the skilled manufacturers and dedicated suppliers in Elkhart, IN, broadened my horizons and deepened my passion for the industry that had already captured my heart.
Fast forward to today, and I am honored to be able to collaborate with professionals across the industry spectrum. Having regained my health, I’ve transitioned from a volunteer advisor to a formal role as a consultant and subject matter expert.
In my multifaceted capacity, I am driven by a singular vision: to weave a tapestry of connections across our diverse ecosystem, fortifying our collective strength and propelling us toward unprecedented success.
FAITH NOTE:
Remember I told you that I had to leave the non-profit faith based world I loved. If I am honest, I thought that somehow I was being rejected by God. It hurt and I struggled. Boy was I short “sited!” It was then that God opened the door to this industry and I found an amazing open door and place of service with other believers and many seeking to know God. God is good, all the time, even when I can’t see it.
My Vision For The Future
Envision a future where the RV and Outdoor Hospitality Industry thrives on forward-thinking and interconnectedness. Imagine a world where campgrounds are in sync with the pulse of production, anticipating the arrival of new rigs a year ahead. Picture a landscape where trends are not just followed but forecasted, where decisions on expanding sites or offering boondocking experiences are made with confidence.
What if power concerns were a thing of the past because rigs became self-sufficient? The answers to these pivotal questions could be within our grasp through proactive, regular dialogues among all industry sectors. These discussions would be rich with brainstorming, problem-solving, and forecasting, all aimed at enhancing the experiences of our community.
I invite you to join me in this pursuit, for I am committed to fostering a future where strategic collaboration is not just a vision, but a reality we build together. Let’s not wait for tomorrow; let’s shape it today
Faith Note:
I dream big dreams. I believe great things can happen. My vision for our industry is one of those big dreams.
I am building a great team that requires leaders who can inspire their team to believe beyond what they think is possible! Will you be a part of that team?
“Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge, God added wealth. Abraham asked for a son, God gave him generations.” When your heart’s desire aligns with God‘s will, nothing is impossible!
Mathew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
